The Origin of Twice Loved
Twice Loved began with a cat.
When I adopted our first cat in 2024, I was introduced to the reality of animal abandonment in a way I had never experienced before. I saw how many animals are left behind every day—some finding safety in shelters, while others are left on the streets with nowhere to go.
I started helping wherever we could, but soon realized that I wanted to do more. I wanted to create something that could bring people together around a cause we deeply cared about.
At the same time, I was becoming more aware of our own relationship with fashion. Like so many people, I had wardrobes filled with beautiful pieces that were no longer being worn. I saw how easily good-quality clothing could be forgotten, discarded, or replaced, while fast fashion continued to contribute to an enormous amount of waste.
That sparked a simple idea:
What if the things we no longer need could help someone who does?
And so, Twice Loved was born.
A place where pre-loved fashion can find a new home, while every purchase can help support animals in need.
What started with a desire to help my own little rescue cat became the beginning of something much bigger—a community built around giving things, and lives, a second chance.
Our Mission
Every year, an estimated 92 million tonnes of textile waste are generated around the world — the equivalent of a truckload of clothing being sent to landfill or incinerated every single second. At the same time, clothing production has doubled since 2000–2015, while the amount of time we use our clothes has fallen by 36%. (UNEP - UN Environment Programme)".
We believe there is a better way.
Instead of treating clothing as disposable, Twice Loved gives pre-loved pieces another life. We source second-hand clothing and make it possible for someone else to discover, wear, and love it again. By keeping clothes in use for longer, we hope to encourage more conscious consumption and reduce the amount of perfectly wearable clothing that becomes waste.

But there is another reason we do what we do.

Around the world, almost 362 million dogs and cats are estimated to be homeless, with approximately 143 million dogs living on the streets (Humane World for Animals). These animals can face hunger, untreated injuries and illness, exposure, neglect, and a lack of access to basic veterinary care.

To us, these two problems are connected by one simple idea:
second chances.
That is where Twice Loved comes in.

The profits from our store are donated to support licensed rescuing organizations.

We don't believe that one purchase will solve the world's problems. But we do believe that thousands of small choices can add up to something powerful. And when that choice also contributes to helping an animal in need, it becomes more than shopping.

It becomes a way to give twice.

Twice Loved was built on the belief that nothing should be considered worthless simply because its first chapter has ended.
